Hard to find heavy duty entry set for a large Victorian door, has an over the top mortise lock in perfect condition. Door set mounts on left side of door when facing front with door swinging into room. High end mortise lock was designed with a split style locking hub and spindle. Operation: with lever on face of lock in locked position the outside knob locks and can’t be turned still allowing the inside knob to turn and open door similar to a night latch. The key operates the throw bolt from the outside. The knight latch operates the throw bolt from inside, the small key escutcheon is added for decoration only. All pieces are in amazing condition inside & out. Has a 3” back-set {measurement from middle of knob to lock face} Mortise body is 5-3/4” high x 4-1/8”deep x ¾” Lock face is 8-1/2” x 1-1/4”x ¼” Entry plate is 8”x 2-3/4” Rosette 2”dia. door knobs are 2-1/4” and 2-1/2”
