Huge antique figural bronze original rare double door entry set by MCCC / R&E, with a dozen pieces that make up this set, all in excellent condition. The three large entry plates are one of the best designed patterns ever made and shown behind the lion knob in Russell and Erwin’s 1870 catalog. All of the pieces clearly contain the manufacture markings and are dated. The four Treasury knobs are entry size, very heavy with exceptional casting. This is the correct door set for a large double door. Contains one complete working set, also a second set for a stationary door. Comes with a jumbo size rabbeted entry lock and matching strike plate with original working key, this is the most difficult part to find in working condition. The fancy bronze key alone is a large collectable style, when turned it needs to line up with 5 different tumblers to operate the lock, this is more intricate that most modern locks. I bought this lock as non-working, by luck, I found the last tumbler installed upside down. After being flipped and put back together the lock now functions as new. This lock most likely never worked as the internal parts have no wear, even the outer section of both lock and strike plate are in mint condition, now functions as new. A rare opportunity to find a complete highly decorated rare set made by one of the top manufactures in this pattern retaining original finish with all parts in remarkable condition. Guaranteed as described.
